Sports Massage & Injury Rehabilitation
Are you living with new or chronic pain?
Sports massage is not just for athletes or people who take part in a lot of sport. Injury can occur when we do daily tasks and our lifestyle can have a big impact on our bodies’ wellbeing.
As a Massage and Soft Tissue Therapist I have been trained in not only massage for relaxation, but also in deeper more therapeutic sports massage, injury prevention and rehabilitation. I use advanced techniques such as STR (soft tissue release) and METs (muscle energy techniques) to further help and support my clients in their recovery from injury.
Regular sessions can be a great addition to a training programme to help prevent injury, ease aches and pains and keep muscles in good condition.
Our often sedentary lifestyle and often bad posture doesn’t do much good for our phyical wellbeing and can lead to pain, strains and injury.
- Sports massage is deeper, more targeted to specific muscles rather than an overall full body massage. It is used to aid healing and recovery following injury (from sport, exercise or just daily life).
- Soft Tissue Therapy includes sports massage but it goes further, beyond simply massage. It looks at all soft tissues such as ligaments and tendons and helps assess, identify, treat and rehabilitate minor and chronic pain and injuries.
Massage and soft tissue therapy can help with:
- increasing energy
- improving movement
- improving circulation
- increasing relaxation
- reducing pain
- reducing depression and anxiety
- reducing muscle tension
We will discuss your current situation and state of your body in our consultation prior to starting any massage and I will tailor the appointment to your individual needs.
